Wine personality of the day

Spencer Fondaumiere started off training as a chef in his native Nairobi in Kenya, he later opened a catering company from his mother’s kitchen which he spent the next seven years building into a successful business. It was on a trip to Cape Town, however, while gaining a diploma in Business Management from the University of Stellenbosch, that he fell in love with the Mother City and decided to stay for the opportunity to work and train under Neil Grant at Burrata Restaurant, working hard to soon become Operations manager and Sommelier for the Burrata group of restaurants. Here he gained valuable experience from a world class sommelier while completing his Cape Wine Academy Certificate and WSET Level 3. Spencer is currently brand manager at Warwick Wine Estate, he is also a qualified wine judge and has contributed on tasting panels for various competitions since 2016.
