Vino da Tavola is rarely used so is declining in importance as the general quality of wines improve. While it is similar to the Vin de France in French wines, many producers are very small and stick to traditional methods, these are typical bell tower wines and are not allowed to state geographical location, variety or vintage on the label. Most are now produced in the poorer south of Italy or Sicily.
