The course begins by giving students a solid understanding of the principles of distillation before looking at the key spirit types. From Whiskey to Tequila, Cognac to Gin, the course looks at the creation, key differences, and ingredients behind a broad range of spirits. The course includes learning to evaluate and taste spirits along with service and glassware in a professional hospitality environment.
Students will take a short exam at the end of the course to validate their learning. A certificate is issued to all candidates who successfully pass the exam. On completion, students will be able to discuss spirits with confidence allowing them to increase guest spend and satisfaction
