This course prepares students for the International Wine Level 3 Certificate. Course content will cover culture, geography, climates in key wine regions of the world, with a focus on tasting and comparing wine examples from the regions studied. Students will also be taught to taste and assess wine quality to Level 3 standard using our R.A.T.E.© systematic approach. A study pack and guide will be provided before the course to allow students to prepare in advance.
After three days of intense training and tasting, the student will be prepared for the International Wines Level 3 examination. The exam is divided in two parts:
- Theoretical examination: A multiple choice and written answer exam paper on wine knowledge covered in the three-day course.
- Wine tasting examination: Students will be asked to assess two wines in a blind tasting format.
The course will equip students with a broad knowledge of international wines and enhanced career prospects in the wine trade or before progressing to the SASA Level 1 Junior Sommelier.
