To progress to a fully certified Sommelier, a broad knowledge of international wine regions is essential. The Sommeliers Academy International Wine Level 4 Diploma expands into lesser known countries and regions of the wine world. Knowledge of viticulture and winemaking techniques will be developed to assist candidates with assessing wine by taste and aroma. Students will learn to taste and evaluate wine critically while comparing climates and soils from multiple locations.
Study books will be provided in advance along with a reading schedule to prepare students for the course. The exam will consist of a theory paper of short answer, essay style and multiple-choice questions along with a wine tasting paper to advanced level.
The course is essential for students progressing to SASA Level 2 Certified Sommelier or Court of Master Sommeliers Certified Sommelier exams.
